Robin Hood Program
In these tough times and even if the restaurants took a hit during the pandemic, it’s still important for us to give back to the vulnerable populations.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, there was another epidemic in the United States: In January 2019, an estimated 567,715 people experienced homelessness. Unfortunately, it got worse with the current situation.
That’s where the idea of the Robin Hood Program came from.
For every takeout & delivery which will include food & beer for the clients. We will use $5 or $10 of the food-beer combos to put together a weekly "care bank". Any order from our "all day menu", you have the option to add a donation of $2, $5, $10 or $15 as well.
Every other Saturday morning, we will host a giveaway event to give out care packages to the homeless community downtown.
We'll make 100 packages that include the following items:
- cards that promote nearby shelters
- socks, beanies & gloves
- handwritten positive notes
- bathing wipes
- Hidden Craft homemade beef jerky: beef jerky is a great snack, full of protein but most brands in the market add sugar & chemicals. We will make our own.
Additionally, we should host a virtual education event with SD rescue mission to educate people about homelessness and give them an opportunity to ask questions. We will also connect with a newly elected official/council member to appear at one of the virtual events and present their plan to fight homelessness.
